SRAM – TWO BY TEN

Posted by Caleb Smith on Monday August 23 2010

It’s not like we haven’t ridden SRAM’s 2×10 yet, but as of Friday we have formalised the relationship. Ignoring that fact that we tested XX a while back on a lightweight race bike, the only times we’ve had on X7/X9 and X0 versions have either been on pre-production samples or for very brief one-off rides. But we now have ourselves a complete bike built up with all X0 bits and pieces for review in our December issue. We even snuck on a new Revelation RLTTi (20mm Maxle) fork which we will also be reviewing in December. Anyway here’s what it all looked like new. Hopefully it looks like this after we’ve finished with it!

I really should mow that lawn. So that's what a full 2x10 build looks like. It should really be on my Nomad.

2011's X0 2X10 sees a revised matchmake setup, now rocking the hinge rather than a two bolt setup.

Actually the whole setup isn't X0; I think we may only be rocking the X9 rear cassette, but that's a good thing as it will probably be the most common (read: cheap but good).

Cranks. What else can you say? You could say they are carbon, hollow and light.

Yup, our bike even has brakes, X0 Elixirs to be exact.

There is even a set of new X9 hubs in the mix to complete the SRAM package. Nice.
