You may remember in Issue 44, The Hurt Issue, the story of a young lady who ended a ride in a helicopter with her handlebar piercing her upper leg. After an injury like that, most of us wouldn’t want to get on a bike again, but Julz came back with a vengeance, even having a crack at downhilling! She has become a bit of a regular in Spoke’s pages, thankfully with a little more light reading than her initial appearance. She loves the New Zealand trails, beer and people, and longs for her next Kiwi adventure, far away from her home in Perth. When not riding, dancing, baking or surfing the waves off the WA coast, she surfs the web for recipes and her next destination. Here’s her top five non-cycling websites for Inside Outside.
Joy The Baker Joy, what joy! Yummy recipies and sneak peaks into the ultra hip and cool world of Joy. Life, Love and Butter. Yum!
Lakeland Cam Tony updates this site every day of the year with five or six photos of the beautiful Lake District in the UK. It makes me happy to see it all from a different perspective but sad also, as I miss all my friends, family and the dogs that still live in this magical place I used to call home.
Burton Girls I’m a terrible snowboarder, so bad that I just stick to my skis these days, but I still love this website. It’s like opening up a random page from your latest fashion/lifestyle mag and a great distraction from work when you want to dream about your next weekend.
Earth Sprout Want someone to TALK (type) real LOUD to you in a Swedish accent and get you buzzing to be all earthy and healthy? This is where I go for my fix of green goodness. I’m not big into raw food, but sometimes it makes you feel good when you’ve been just too naughty.
No Lights No Lycra No Lights No Lycra. I check this page out to see where the latest meet is to have a good old dance off, in the dark, with stangers and friends, midweek, sober. The Facebook page also has this week’s playlist on Spotify so you can boogie all week! No NLNL near you? No worries, deets are on here so you can start a local chapter in your hood!
