How old are you? 20

Where do you live? Rotovegas

What do you like best about living where you do? It’s got the best trails around and is just close enough to the surf and snow as well, and a couple of lakes to visit with some mint jumping rocks. Too much really.

What do you dislike about living where you do? It smells when it rains.

How did you get involved in the mountain biking scene to begin with, and how long ago was that? Mum and Dad are really into it and I think they bought me a good bike so they could take me along on the expeditions and it went from there.

Highlight of your New Zealand summer? They come in at first equal with winning the Huka XL and winning Paddys Hot X Buns run in the Triple Crown.

Lowlight of your New Zealand summer? Getting an ass whooping at the Oceania cross-country champs in U23 men.

Highlight of your Northern Hemisphere summer so far? Getting to go into the business class lounge in Dubai. Free food.

Lowlight of your Northern Hemisphere summer so far? Crashing in my first two XC World Cup races and not getting the results I was capable of on the day.

What are your plans and goals for the rest of your Northern Hemisphere season? Stay on my bike and do my best. Got to stay away from the bad food until after the racing.

If you could only do one discipline from today on, would it be Enduro or XC racing? Cheeky man, haha! At the moment it would be cross-country, I really enjoy the mass start and racing against other people like that. I think the Mega Avalanche will be awesome!

How would you describe your riding style? Pretty messy at the moment, I’ve just changed to a hardtail 29er, ha.

Favourite trail? Billy T

Best thing to do on a longhaul flight? Take all the free food/drink you can get.

What’s one thing you’ve learned in the last 10 years? How to snowboard.

What’s wrong with mountain biking? Nothing

What’s right with mountain biking? Everything

All time favourite rider? Julien Absalon

Favourite piece of MTB kit? Gloves

Who do you look up to? Everybody who’s living life to the full.

What are your vices? Food, sport.

Finish this sentence:  “On a Saturday I like to get up and….” Eat food.

Thank yous? Big thanks to my parents for their ongoing support and to all my sponsors I’ve had throughout the years, it’s awesome having all the support!
