If you follow our Instagram or Facebook accounts you’ll already know this but the 2014 Farm Jam is on and the date has been set! NZ Farm Jam organisers have announced 1 March 2014 as the date for next year’s instalment of the epic two-wheeled action sports event. Fresh off a highly successful 2013, organisers Dan and Brett Frew have already put the wheels in motion to ensure their unique Jam contest continues to evolve as one of the world’s premier multi-discipline events.

Held at the bottom of New Zealand’s spectacular South Island, the Farm Jam combines natural-terrain freestyle motocross, BMX dirt and mountain-bike dirtjumping. Every year the unique contest attracts thousands of spectators and some of the world’s biggest names in two-wheeled action sports.

“We were blown away at the quality of riders we attracted in 2013,” explains Dan Frew. “We saw a high number of international riders from Australia, Switzerland, Argentina, the UK and Spain, as well as attracting the best riders from around New Zealand. For 2014, series sponsors Red Bull and Unit are again flying in some of their best athletes, so we expect the quality of competition to lift even further.” Not ones to rest on their laurels, the Frews have already started shifting huge piles of dirt and revamping the “big line” jumps and the all-new freeride FMX competition area.

“To cater for the growing quality field of riders, we’re reshaping the left-hand jump line for 2014,” reveals Brett Frew. “The Frew Farm featured heavily in Anthill Films’ #notbad MTB film earlier this year, and, combined with having Spanish rider Andreu Lacondeguy and X Games gold medallist Kyle Baldock ride the Farm Jam last year, we’re seeing a big spike in interest from the global community.” As was the case this year, the 2014 NZ Farm Jam will have limited entry spots available across FMX, BMX and MTB.
