Cam Zink is finally off Felt Bikes, what he was ever doing there in the first place is anybody’s guess, but you gotta eat. Anyway Atomlab’s recent acquisition of Corsair bikes seems to have injected a bit of life into things. Decline founder Ralf Houser is on board at Corsair now and has wasted no time in hooking up all round shredder Cam Zink into the fray to join the mighty McGazza on the Corsair program. Full press release below. CAMERON ZINK ON CORSAIR BIKES

Thanks to a rich variety of tricks and a ton of style, Cam Zink has been on top of his game for a long time and managed to take many podium spots in the past years. The American has been competing since the age of eleven, been featured in many segments in some of the most high-profile mountain bike movies as well as collected stunning magazine appearances around the world. His first place at the 2006 Whistler Crankworx Slopestyle comp undoubtedly marks one of the highlights of his career.

Now Cam is riding on Corsair suspension frames and Black Market hardtails for the 2010 season. We are really stoked to have a rider as established and successful as Cam riding for us. More importantly though, here is what Cameron has to say about the new partnership: “After being on such crap bikes for the last few years and convincing myself that they weren’t crap, it’s hard to express how amazing it feels to be on good suspension bikes again. The Corsair bikes were very easy to get used to and I am finding out they are some of the best bikes I have ever ridden. Corsair has incredible bikes, a bitchin’ image and good people to deal with, which leaves me in a great position for the years to come.”

We too hope that this relation will be one to last for many years and that we can include Cam into developing our bikes further and give us important real-world feedback.

I can’t believe I’m doing another post for coloured parts! Full Speed Ahead’s (FSA) Orbit MX headset has always been a mid-price favourite, and now it’s available in seven colours – black, blue, gold, green, gun metal, red or white. Other than the new colours it’s unchanged for 2010, with 36° angular contact bearings for smooth running, and forged and CNC-machined 6061/T6 aluminium cups to keep the weight down to 96g.
The WideOpen product launch was held in rainy Rotorua today, and Spoke Magazine grabbed the best seats.

FSA have released a new Compact MTB Crank – 386. Dual ring. 3 bolt standard (new) – 27-42 gearing. In carbon and aluminium

FSA also have a limited run of white road bars. This is the kwing compact…

Matt Whitaker demonstrates the WideOpen stance. The Gravity 777 bar – flat bar for DH and agressive trail riding. 777mm wide and perfect for smashing your knuckles on trees

Marzocchi have made huge changes across the product line for 2010. Gone are the Air travel adjustment, and in are new titanium springs, much lighter weight, and more subtle graphics. Shown below is the 888 RC3 EVO Ti. The EVO bit is all about adjustments – you can pull out the compression shim stack and mess everything up all by yourself.

A bunch of new stuff and incremental updates from Atomlab. The General Issue (GI) rims are gone, to be replaced with a rim provisionally called the P.Lite. A new PimpSuperlite has been released. It’s a narrower profile, and lighter weight. All Atomlab rims now ship with Tork nipples and a nice nipple key.

Wideopen have also changed their approach to Atomlab wheelsets. They’ll still be bringing in the G.I. wheelsets, but will offer a custom wheel-build service where you can select your own rim, spoke and nipple colour, and your choice of hub. All this will be at the same cost as an “out of the box” wheelset. Nice.

Atomlab also have new plastic pedals. Light and cheap. And in Green, White, Red and Smoke, so you can decorate your christmas tree with them

Gravity have a light chainguide. It’s got a plastic construction, with the idea being that it will deflect slightly when taking a hit rather than bending or breaking your ISCG tabs. Available in ISCG, ISCG’05 and BB Mount.

And finally, for those with a weight-loss addiction, the new Tioga Twin-Tail Spyder saddle. Guaranteed to get more air in your, er, hair.

Mountain bike suspension technology has come a long way since the first 1” travel elastomer sprung forks came out about 20 years ago, but they still need to be set up specifically for every rider and then maintained properly to keep them running smooth for years to come.

This is why Wide Open is pleased to announce that we are working on a new PROTUNE servicing program for New Zealand Marzocchi riders. This new program is targeted at all mountain bikers with a Marzocchi fork or shock on their bike and will help you get the most out of your suspension.

Wide Open has a long history of working with pro race teams and tuning suspension. Years of experience gained from working with riders like Sam Blenkinsop, Missy Giove, Jared Rando, Nathan Rankin and John Kirkcaldie is now available to you. Once you have given us some information about you and your riding style, users will be able to send their fork or shock in through their local bike shop or directly to us and we will work towards finding the optimum setup specifically for you.

Stay tuned to the website for more information in the coming months!
