Anton Cooper on the podium at his first international race of the season

Anton and his Cannondale teammates had only just left their Cannondale Team Camp (with Mark Weir, Jerome Clementz and Ben Cruz) days before, and yet they’ve already racked up a solid podium finish in Italy at Tregnago with Manuel Fumic in 1st, Anton in 2nd and the third Cannondale rider on the podium Marco Fontana in 5th after a flat! (Notice the Cannondale riders cover up their Lycra with baggies for the podium!)

Not a bad start to the season really, and obviously he took the under 23 category! Although it seems Jerome Clementz is taking some of the credit for the win, Tweeting “@antonmtb @ManuelFumic @fontanaprorider congrats. I believe that some training with the OverMountain team and cocktail contest paid today”

Not only is he an extremely talented bike rider and incredibly knowledgeable about suspension, but he can actually interpret and translate what he’s feeling in a way that he can communicate to the rest of the engineering team. This enables them to cross-reference the data they’ve collected with real life, on-trail experience to build better bikes and provide the right setup for our riders. We’re constantly refining our VPP™ suspension as well as the damping tunes shocks we spec on our bikes in order to make sure our bikes ride really, really good.
