Spoke Announcement

The Aotearoa Adventure Film Festival (AAFF) is proud to present the official films and programme for the inaugural festival. Your Adventure Starts Here.
This 5-week film festival will run in true Kiwi fashion, taking a curated selection of international feature films, documentaries and short films on a road trip to celebrate the best of adventure culture and our connection with the environment. For the first year of the festival we have decided on a Trail & Water theme. A selection of incredible films from the adventure and action sports genre including mountain biking, kayaking, surfing and skydiving will captivate, shock, inspire, and above all entertain you. Breathtaking cinematography, beautiful scenery, incredible storytelling and an adventurous spirit that makes these films so unique. AAFF will bring the adventure community together, bringing the best films right to their doorsteps.

“We are very excited to establish the festival and we are really pumped to be bringing such a high caliber of adventure films to New Zealand. We have handpicked some of the best mountain bike, kayak and surf films on the planet. We hope that the films can help get everyone motivated to get out into nature’s playground as the warmer weather approaches. Our team will be working hard over the next few weeks leading up to the festival to get the word out. With the help of our key sponsors and partners we have some great giveaways for the audience”, says Event Director Nick Stevenson.

The following films will be shown during the main festival and selected national tour locations:

Trail Night
Arrival, Coastal Crew (Canada)
Where The Trail Ends, Red Bull Media House (USA)

Water Night
North Of The Sun (Norway)
Congo: The Grand Inga Project, Red Bull Media House (USA)

A selection of short films will accompany feature films.
