So for our last day with Ross Schnell I dragged out Kelly McGarry for an all mountain mission up to Nelson’s Browning Hut. The rain was torrential when we woke but being from Wellington it wasn’t going to deter me, so I made Jason and Ross come out as well. The ride up was awesome with the wet not really affecting traction at all. After a quick stop at the hut, Ross and Kelly charged off down the trail and left Jason and I picking mud out of our eyes. It was a camera-less ride so you get one cell phone video of a super sketch log ride (soooo slippery) and some chilling cell phone pics. If you’re in Nelson, Browning Hut still rules.

Crankworx Cairns 2023
The Crankworx World Tour made its second stop this weekend in Cairns, Australia. Cradled between the Great Barrier Reef and a World Heritage tropical rainforest, Cairns has become synonymous with steep terrain, great racing and rowdy crowds. Take a look at what the weekend had in store.
Glad to see you out enjoying our local trails Caleb – when you come back, try riding up the log ride… It is doable ๐
i’m sure it is… might have more chance of making it in the dry though…

[…] course they got drenched, but still had some fun, and Ross and Kelly showed their mad skillz on this log ride in the torrential downpour. […]

Nah, you make it a round trip – ride up it on the way to hut, then bomb down on the way out – and follow it up with the drop over the next tree root into the river after the three corners – ah, native goodness – good times!
