Well, round 1 of the Wellington Underground Super D is in the bag. 23 people showed up at the top of Makara Peak, and Tryfan and Jim put on a sweet event as per usual. The course was Zacs, North Face, Smokin, Magic Carpet and Live Wires. Richard Leacock (who didn't even know the race was on) took the win with a time of 12:45; Bicycle's Ryan Williams was second with a time of 13:16, Banga was third with 13:31 and Spoke reviewer Mark Dangerfield and NZMTBR editor Carl Patton drew for fourth with a time of 13:41. I was OTA. Next Wednesday is set for 7pm at the Radar Dome on Hawkins Hill.
