Alex Revell and Jenna Makgill will take the grid at the historic Yanqing Cyclocross event (21 September 2013).

Yanqing is to be China’s first cyclocross event, with an invitational format and UCI sanction providing an opportunity for Alex and Jenna to secure experience and UCI points, banging bars with athletes from Europe and North America,

Alex ‘De Snor’ Revell needs little introduction, having spent the 2012/13 season competing in the mud and sand of Europe, and snow of Louisville. Yanqing will be the first step of Alex’s 2013/14 season, with plans to race part of the season in America and later return to Belgium for another taste of the famous Christmas ‘cross period.

Alex is supported in New Zealand by Yeti Cycles, Revolution Bicycles, FMB Tyres, and Mavic shoes.

Jenna Makgill takes the women’s spot. The two-time World Messenger Champion and former New Zealand Downhill mountain bike representative has recently discovered cyclocross and rapidly gained results on both sides of the Tasman – winning both the first round of the New Zealand CX series in Hawkes Bay, and defeating Australian 2012 Series Champion Lisa Jacobs in taking out round one of Melbourne’s prestigious Dirty Deeds CX Series.

The Redbull / LivGiant athlete is looking forward to experiencing the international CX scene as a stepping stone into the 2013/2014 season.

The team will depart New Zealand on 17 September, with Yanqing International Cyclocross being held some 80km’s north of Beijing, China, in what will be early autumn conditions.
