The 2009 Downieville Classic is in the books and I’m pretty sure it’s one no one was expecting. Lycra dominated the event with XC racer Adam Craig winning the DH, the XC and the All Mountain title ahead of Santa Cruz rider Jason Moeschler and sometime Avanti rider (when not in Aussie he rides for Specialized) Sid Taberlay. In the DH, third place went to a recovering Ross Schnell who couldn’t hold his record from Adam Craig as he bested it by 45 seconds and Moeshler finished second with Nathan Riddle and Brian Lopes filling out the the top five. Bike Magazine has some awesome photos and an in-depth story that you should get over and check out. Plus VeloNews has the full results.
