Sebastian Doerk and Rob J Heran just came back from a somewhat unusual trip for the off season. Instead of flying to New Zealand, South America or somewhere else warm it took them to freezing cold Kentucky, USA.

THE MINE COVER PIC III
We haven´t been the first ones underground but everyone else seemed to have turned a blind eye to the insane trail network. Forty-five trails on 325,000 square ft; there´s pure gold underneath the mountain.

It´s called Off Season for a reason, the Alps are covered with snow and we´d usually go somewhere south and warm to get some riding in. This trip was somehow different. When we landed in Louisville we were welcomed by a raging snow storm and the harshest winter Kentucky has seen for 15 years: -24 degrees Celcius / -11 Fahrenheit. Car wrecks lay scattered over the main highways, shops were closed. Just like I would imagine Armageddon.

Could there be a better place to hide than an abandoned mine with mild temperatures all year round, perfectly built trails and a coffee shop?

Warning, after watching this you might want to grab a shovel and dig a hole in your garden.
