Mark Dickson from KRD distribution popped into the Spoke office this week to show us some bits and pieces from a few of his brands, here’s what he had in his bag of tricks…
Race Face’s Next crankset comes in a 2×10 configuration, with hollow carbon arms and 7075 alloy Turbine chainrings. It’s pretty light at 635 grams including the bottom bracket (with a titanium axle). You can get the rings in 26/38 or 28/40 (for 10 speed) and a choice of standard BB, BB92 press fit, BB30 or PF30. Price is $950.

The press fit BB is also available on its lonesome, weighs in at 130g and can be used with Shimano and some FSA cranksets. $100 will get you one.

Flat pedals are going on a diet, some so much you can hardly see them side on. e13 The Hive’s LG1+ weighs in at 468grams. The alloy (or Exalite) axle is sandwiched between two layers of impact resistant plastic (these are both replaceable) and they have fully sealed self-lubricating bearings. Out of the box you get 4mm and 7mm pins that provide ample grip for shoes as well as shins and calves. RRP $240.

The e13 TRS+ Dual chain guide is designed to work with dual ring cranksets (no shit!). It comes in standard BB and BB wide fit, ISCG and ISCG05 mountings, has a Shark Fin removable upper wear plate with chainring size indicators and weighs only 149g. Black or white and is yours for $250.

A point of difference from other guides is e13’s use of a nylon bushing for the chain to run on rather than jockey wheels. The bushing is replaceable too…

X-Fusion now offers reducers and bushes for their own and other brand rear shocks to make servicing and maintenance a snap. Price will vary slightly per shock model, but are pretty affordable for the rider on a budget.
