After a week of dry practice and qualifying, the Scottish skies opened up for the finals of the UCI DH World Cup on Sunday in Fort William. Current World Cup champ Aaron Gwin made the most of the conditions and an early run to take the top spot over Brits Danny Hart and Gee Atherton.
Cam Cole was the best of the Kiwis in 10th, with Blenki behind him in 12th. George Brannigan just missed the top 20 in 21st, while Justin Leov and Brook MacDonald had days to forget in 32nd and 69th respectively.
Gwin tops the points standings from Greg Minnaar and Atherton, with Cole and Blenkinsop sitting in 11th and 12th.

World Champion Emmeline Ragot overcame her qualifying woes and took the women’s win over Rachel Atherton and Myriam Nicole. Starting mid-pack like Gwin in the men’s race, Ragot held the hot seat as her rivals failed to deal with the conditions and came up short of her time.
The overall standings reflect the race podium, with Ragot holding a healthy lead over Atherton and Nicole.
