A set of Continental’s latest folding cross-country tyres just showed up at the office for review and were swiftly snapped up by Leif to go on the GT Helion we’re currently testing (review in our upcoming December issue). These new X-King tyres are made in Conti’s new factory at Hefei in China and feature Conti’s Pure Grip tread. Pure Grip is an Activated Silica Compound, ranked just behind their famous Black Chilli Compound for great grip, excellent cornering traction and durability.
The 2.2″ wide medium-sized tyres are tubeless ready and retail here for $52. If you’re after other sizes, the Pure Grip 2.2″ X-King is also available 29″ as well as a 2.4″ version too.
