If you haven’t read this somewhere else already, Dorel which owns Pacific Cycle (GT, Mongoose, Schwinn and Cannondale) has just purchased Iron Horse for the tiny sum of USD$5.2 million. This is definitely a good thing as the other main bidder was Iron Horse founder Cliff Weidberg’s son Randall Scott, who some speculate is the main reason Iron Horse filed for bankruptcy in the first place. Only question locally is will Auckland based distributor W H Worrralls pick up yet another bike brand or will Aussie based Gemini (Mongoose) add it to their stable. Full story here.
