Great news out of France this morning where Jamie Nicoll clinched the overall win at the Trans Savoie stage race…

PRESS RELEASE

During the EWS break Jamie Nicoll planned to go and race the 2nd edition of the Trans-Savoie, a 6 day stage race around the French Alps, starting from Val D’Isère and ending near the Mont Blanc in Chamonix with 27 timed stages, 25 000 descent, 5 000m ascent.

The race started on Sunday when the 100 riders registered, from 23 different countries, gave their first pedal stroke. An average of 5 stages a day on the most amazing trails of the region was awaiting the racers.

Almost 4hours of racing in total and around 400km of trails later Jamie came out in 1st position, 8 minutes ahead of Gary Forrest and 16min head of Nash Masson.

A perfectly managed race, no mechanical and smooth stages allowed him to win the Trans-Savoie, confirming his  fitness is coming back and giving a good boost of confidence coming into the last round of the EWS in Finale Ligure in a few weeks.
