Richie Goldsbury is one half of the semi-fictional character Bobby Goldsbury, as featured on the popular Spoke tee-shirt from a couple of years back. He’s also a mad tinkerer, inventor, builder and rider of his own bikes. Take a look at the methods he used to construct a carbon fibre swingarm for his Kea-themed bike…
“This is mostly a time lapse of making the swingarm for my new bike, which is painted to look like a Kea (bird) though general opinion is it looks more like a lizard or a tree frog. I haven’t put sound on the video. Was thinking “Thing Well Made”, by The Muttonbirds, but it would be a bit untrue!”
Do u have a more detailed video? Missing the whole thing at this speed
Not yet sorry eazy I’m still kinda working on this video, I’ll send in the continuity guy… So hopefully in a couple days I’ll have it a bit easier to follow what’s going on, and post that. But really the main thing to take from it is I do lots of sanding!
If you don’t sand and do multiple layers of the wet layup and tape wrap, you will end up with tubes that look like a wrinkly earthworms, I know from experience…. http://www.vitalmtb.com/community/unissamog,12121/setup,23550
