Melissa “Missy” Giove was sentenced recently for marijuana possession. Remember when she got busted in JUNE 2009? (Gotta love America’s judicial system.) Somehow she managed to avoid prison time.
U.S. District Court Judge Gary L. Sharpe gave her five years probation following six months home detention. A sentence of 24 to 30 months in prison was anticipated.
Giove was arrested when she was caught trafficking 384 pounds of marijuana from California to Saratoga County in June, 2009. She pleaded guilty to trafficking with the intent to sell in December, 2009, stating that she had arranged to be paid $30,000 to coordinate the exchange and follow a courier who drove the truck across the country. Searches of co-conspirator Eric Canori’s home revealed nearly $1 million cash in duffel bags and an additional 30 to 50 pounds of marijuana. Via Singletrack.com
