Okay so it’s not all new stuff, but Chris from Revolution Products stopped by the office a couple of days ago with a few new things in his car, notably this complete 100m travel Carbon Pivot 429… This thing is pretty darn rad, Pivot have taken given the carbon 429 all new geometry, a revised dw-link suspension design and the same Pivot hollow box internal molding technology developed on the Carbon Mach 5.7.
142mm rear spacing with 12mm through axle and 160mm post mount dropouts for maximum frame stiffness.New under top tube internal shift cable routing with clean brake and dropper seat post routing.
Rubberized leather chainstay, inner seat stay, and down tube protectors for a quiet ride and higher impact resistance. New ISCG 05 (chainguide) mounts included on frame.
Tapered 1.5” headtube, PF92 bottom bracket, and direct mount front derailleur.
Chris also had the new Pivot Less 29er hardtail with him… Its a bike that was made by demand, as a lot of Pivot’s more XC orientated customers really didn’t want to ride someone else’s hard tail and pleaded with Pivot to produce one, the result being this amazing well resolved geared or single speed frame.
Like the 429c top tube cable access port the Less features an access port under the BB to aid in the set up of cable routing. It also has a massively stiff 92mm press fit bottom bracket and direct mount front mech.
The standard LES dropouts (included with every frame) are full molded hi-mod carbon fiber featuring a 142 X 12mm through axle, post style disk brake mounts and a replaceable derailleur hanger. These cleanly integrate into the frame giving little hint that the dropouts are removable. The design is also another contributor to the frames amazing stiffness and performance.
Swinger Patent Pending adjustable single speed System: Single speeders can rejoice with this design. It’s light, simple to adjust and really sets a new bar for single speeders. The system provides quick, consistent, indexed chain adjustments for single speed use along with fast wheel changes and no change in brake adjustments. The design works with bolt on or quick release single speed disc brake hubs. The Swinger dropouts are cold forged aluminum and feature a rear chain tension adjuster with a spring loaded ball bearing detent design. The rider can make quick gear changes and adjust the chain tension evenly on each side. The adjust features 4 clicks per rotation for counting off even adjustments per side. The adjusters cannot self loosen and will not allow the axle to slide forward.
Now i’d seen pictures of these HT AE01 pedals but had never actually seen a set in the flesh. Thing is they are so rad i almost want to switch back to flats! at 358 grams a pair they spin on a CNC machined cr-moly spindle and dual DU bushes and a bearing.
And this is more of a reminder really that Chromag’s ever popular 780 OSX Fubar is still here and available in a range of colours.
