|Details on the new Cardrona ‘Extreme’ Giant 2W Gravity Enduro on Sunday 13th April 2014 are now up here on the event website. We are excited to announce online entries open at 1:00pm NZT today (Friday 1st November 2013). Rider entries are limited, so enter here now.|
Based from the wonderful historic Cardrona Hotel (on the Crown Range road between Queenstown and Wanaka in the South Island, NZ), the new Cardrona event is epic in its size and nature. With up to 4800 vertical metres of descending in four special race stages from the Range summit and Mountain top down to the valley floor over a variety of alpine, sub-alpine and high country terrain, this Enduro is on a scale not previously seen in New Zealand.
There will be two entry options – the budget ‘Self-shuttle’ (i.e. organise your own vehicle and driver to shuttle you and your mates for the day) or the premium ‘Shuttles inclusive’ (where a shuttling service is provided to 100 riders). Some liaison riding will be required to/from the shuttle pick-up/ drop-off points and special race stages starts/finishes, otherwise it’s all downhill and it’s a long, long way!
Shout out to your riding mates, get organised and start planning your trip now.
Kiran MacKinnon is a human dyno. When Santa Cruz Bicycles needs to test, experiment and validate suspension then Kiran is the one of the main people we call on to do that work. Not only is he an extremely talented bike rider and incredibly knowledgeable about suspension, but he can actually interpret and translate what he’s feeling in a way that he can communicate to the rest of the engineering team. This enables them to cross-reference the data they’ve collected with real life, on-trail experience to build better bikes and provide the right setup for our riders. We’re constantly refining our VPP™ suspension as well as the damping tunes shocks we spec on our bikes in order to make sure our bikes ride really, really good.
