Introducing the Trans NZ Enduro, a five-day all inclusive Enduro race that will take riders over some of the best trails on the South Island of New Zealand from March 7–11, 2015. It takes riders on a challenging, thrillseeking adventure of all styles of trails from Craigieburn in the Canterbury region to the famous Queenstown trails and a few stops in between. The race will finish in Queenstown just three days before the Queenstown Bike Festival gets kicked off and a few weeks prior to first stop on the Enduro World Series schedule at Rotorua Crankworx.
New Zealand’s reputation in the mountain biking world is forever growing bigger and stronger as many riders from around the world flock to the Southern Hemisphere to be able to bike year round and escape the Northern Hemisphere winters. That’s why there is no better time to introduce to you the very first five-day enduro race for New Zealand.
Native beech forest, alpine riding, roots and forest, fast and flowy, loose and rocky are just some aspects of what to expect throughout the 5 days. A full array of trail styles and types have been hand selected to make sure you all experience a little bit of everything in New Zealand!
You may have heard of Trans Provence, Trans Savoie, Trans Andes Pacifico. These races are shaping the future of multi-day enduro races across the world and we are bringing the first one to New Zealand for 2015.
These types of races are about allowing avid riders to explore new mountain bike areas around the world. It’s a style of racing that you don’t have to pin it from start to finish. Only sections of the course are timed while riders get to take their time on the liaison sections and take in the magic scenery around them and socialize with other riders in the event on their way to the next timed stage. It will attract some of the serious Pro’s but mostly the avid everyday mountain bikers looking to push their limits and take on new challenges and explore new areas!
The full race package is NZ$1,550. From the moment riders land at the Christchurch Airport, they will be looked after with airport pickups, transportation and shuttles for the five days, backpacker style accommodation for six nights, breakfast and dinner every day, and five epic days on the bike on a professional marked and timed course. We will offer a locals package for those that don’t want to opt for the meals, accommodation and transport and will be fully self supported throughout the five days at a rate of NZ$850. Spaces will be limited to 75 (50 spots open for the full package and 25 open to the self supported base package). Registration opens September 1st with no payment required until September 15 and it’s a first come first serve basis. You can opt to pay the full amount by September 15 or just the 50% deposit.
