The Specialized Winter Gravity Series is back for 2025 at Christchurch Adventure Park—five unique events over five Sundays, serving up lift-accessed racing for every kind of rider. Whether you’re chasing podiums or just keen to stay sharp through winter, this grassroots series is all about good vibes, fast runs, and muddy high-fives.

Racing kicked off last weekend with the Gravity Enduro—five timed descents, one big day on the bike. Pick your lines, manage your legs, and let it rip on everything from roots to rollers. This one’s for the all-rounders.

Jeremy Burke, Matt Clarke, and Michael Simek took the top three spots in the Men Masters 40+ race. The Women Masters podium featured winner Katy Smeele, followed by Heather Matthews, and Melanie Blomfield.

Jane Newell took the Women Open podium, followed by Grace Bruere and Sarah Mabin. The Open Men’s top three were John Laws, Tyler Brooker, and Josh Russell.

The Under 19 Men’s winners were Joel Nissen, Fletcher Mattews, and Baxter Florance. Issy Mar took the top step in the Under 19 Women followed closely by Lucy Jenkins, with Sophie Jolly in third.

Alexa van Tromp was the Under 15 Women’s race winner, with Aniko Farmer and Evie Craig in second and third. The Under 15 Men podium was Finley Dutton, Luuk Vree, and Isaac Overcomer.

Next up is Downhill on June 8, the classic top-to-bottom burner. One run, full tilt. It’s raw, fast, and simple: get down clean and get down quick.

Then, on July 20, comes the crowd favourite: Chainless. No drivetrain, no problem—just pure flow and finesse. Riders will have to pump, push, and keep their momentum alive all the way to the bottom.

The fourth event on August 3 is the Air DH, which is all about style and speed on our jump trail. Boost big, scrub clean, and link your landings if you want to top the timing sheet.

Rounding things out is Double DH on August 24: two tracks, two chances, one overall time. With very different trails on offer, consistency and versatility will decide the final winners.

Each round offers a different flavour of gravity racing, with categories for all ages and abilities. There are spot prizes, serious bragging rights, and end-of-series glory for those chasing the full five.

Whether you’re a seasoned racer or giving it a go for the first time, the Winter Gravity Series is the perfect excuse to keep the wheels turning this winter. Entries are open now.
