Following on from a super successful World Championships, the four downhill riders for Trek World Racing took part in the final round of the growing Pro GRT series in Whiteface, NY. In the Pro Men’s event, the team went 1-2-3 while recently crowned World Champion Tracy Moseley decimated the small Pro Women’s field. Tracy was riding her first race wearing the rainbow stripes, clearly with a lot of pride and a lot of race speed. Full results here.

After qualifying 1st, 3rd and 4th, with Justin Leov fastest at 7m 52.95secs on the long course, all three found another 5 to 7 seconds for the final, to sweep the podium (see pic below).

Justin said: “I thought I’d figured everything out in Canada for the Worlds, so I was really disappointed with my crash there when I was 4th fastest at the split for the day. But today cemented the fact that I had figured things out and I rode strongly and aggressively, and was so pleased with my run”.

Tracy said: “It was a pretty fun race on a long and challenging DH course. It feels good to end the season with a win, especially in my first race wearing the rainbow stripes. I definitely didn’t spare the horses!”

Andrew said: “It was tough to get motivated after the Worlds, but once I was in the start gate I wanted to win. I knew Jusso would be tough to beat on this longer than usual course. I gave it everything but I just didn’t have the legs at the end. The 1-2-3 was pretty cool though.”

Neko said: “I rode a good race. I made a few mistakes but put my head down and really went for it.”

Tracy clearly wins the overall series for 2010, but at the time of going to print, the official men’s overall series had not been published. Our rough calculations have it pretty close between the top 3, so we’ll be waiting for the official announcement.

Final Race Results:

1. Justin Leov (Trek World Racing) 7m 44.39secs 2. Andrew Neethling (Trek World Racing) 7m 55.51secs 3. Neko Mulally (Trek World Racing) 8m 03.35secs

1. Tracy Moseley (Trek World Racing) 8m 58.28secs 2. Jill Kintner (USA) 9m 35.83secs 3. Jacqueline Harmony (USA) 9m 58.04secs
