Today is the day. That’s right, 7pm tonight at the seat on top of Mt Lowery (it’s going to be crowded) sees the start of the final round of the Wellington Underground Super D series on Rata Ridge. It’s a technically demanding course with some tech descents and a few little climbs thrown in for good measure as well as a fireroad sprint for the finish. If you haven’t ridden it before, park at the top of Wainui Hill and head south along the ridge toward Eastborne (you can’t get lost cause if you’re on the ridge the track goes to the seat, but it takes about 40mins). There will be prize giving and a BBQ at Tryfan’s afterwards, so bring meat and beer, or money for meat and beer.
