Last night saw the final round of the third year of the Wellington Underground Super D series. The no swapping bikes rule was flaunted this year as all top three overall finishers (Richard Leacock 1st, The Hippy 2nd and Tryfan 3rd) changed bikes. The top five overall was rounded out by Jono B in 4th and me in 5th. Last night’s Rata Ridge was really hard and I had a nightmare of a run (so glad I didn’t take the WFO9), but I wasn’t the only one. Leif managed to beat half the field (including Rod, Mark and myself) on his full rigid DMR with 1.9″ semi slicks and no chain for the last kilometre! Leacock took the win followed by Hadley Boyce in 2nd and his old flatmate Cowboy in 3rd. Jono had just bought a camera so we actually have photos this time. Thanks Jono.

Our new suspension started from a blank sheet of paper. We set everything aside and started with one question: how can we continue to elevate every ride? The result is a revolutionary system designed
to deliver unprecedented control, muscle, and performance. New chassis designed with industry-first damper technology, reinvented air springs, a host of new technologies to mute trail chatter and win the fight against friction. Suspension that has the confidence to meet the demands of riders today and empower them to take the sport somewhere new tomorrow.
