Juvey, the new kids/big kids track out at Miramar opened a couple of weeks back to a large gathering and many happy faces.
This track is a riding progression from the Island Bay Kids track, taking those skills and applying them in a more traditional singletrack in the bush.
Ben Wilde and Russ Garlick from the Miramar Trail Project/Wellington MTB Club have been driving this project with funding and direction from David Halliday at Wellington City Council. The trail construction was recently completed by Southstar Trails.
Mayor Celia Wade-Brown cut the ribbon officially opening the track. Celia, who rode her bike to the trail opening, talked about the council’s vision for Wellington to continue to develop as a city with world class cycling and mountain biking opportunities.
