Back before we dropped issue one of Spoke, Makara’s Jason Gurr was already shredding. Whether it was the jumps below Mud Cycles or sneaking into the then-tiny Makara Peak singletrack on a Nifty 50. Some would say he was ahead of his time. Small wheels, fast cars and beer lured Gurr away from the MTB world, although he definitely left his mark.
