A while back Matt and Kris from Wide Open dropped by the office with their initial taste of POC products. We brought you an in-depth look here, but missing from that first look was the DH kit and a few other bits and bobs which we can show you now. I was going to shoot all this stuff flat on the ground, but when Scolesy and Conor walked into the studio, well we all just figured it would look better on models!
The POC DH Jersey is a loose fitting, durable and breathable polyester top with room enough to run pads underneath if you’re that way inclined. They are super breathable and feature large mesh ventilation in the armpit. RRP is $120.
POC’s DH Shorts are slightly more rugged and durable than the Flow and Trail shorts and as the name suggests are intended for DH use. They feature pre-shaped articulated knees and a zippered pocket on left leg. Oh and they come in any colour as long as it’s black and retail for $165.
We’ve shown you the Coretex helmet before, but that model was the MIPS equipped bee’s knees. The Coretex Flow pictured here will only inflict $340 worth of damage on your bank account but still comes with generous venting, a durable fibreglass outer shell and an inner liner made of multi impact resistant EPP material. It comes in three sizes and a range of colours.
Red for Conor.
Green for Scolesy.
You’ll be just as likely to see POC’s Cornea Flow goggle at an enduro race this summer as at a DH race; either way you’ll be the freshest looking cat there and with its double lens construction and anti fog and anti-scratch treatment your vision will be one less thing to worry about. They also feature silicone grippers inside the straps to ensure the goggles stay in place, and they come in two colours both with an anti-glare lens.
We showed you the VPD 2.0 Knee Pads in the last lot of POC gear. Well, the 1.0 pictured is a lighter weight VPD knee pad and is also a great trail knee pad. They come in a pre-bent shape and like the 2.0 feature POC’s VPD technology which adapts to the shape of the body but stiffens when exposed to impact. Retail on these bad boys is $135.
