Red Bull Hardline 2023

Despite being rained off, Red Bull riders made history at Hardline last weekend

Branded the hardest course on the planet, Hardline combines jumps and drops with gnarly descents in a part-downhill, part-freeride track moulded by Dan Atherton, Ollie Davey and the rugged Welsh weather.

In the face of high winds and rain, the riders voted to postpone the event for 2023 – but they still managed to get in a few days of epic riding.

2023 saw more women attempting the course than ever before, after Jess Blewitt became the first woman to ride Hardline last year. Tahnée Seagrave, Louise Ferguson, Hannah Bergemann, Cami Nogueira and Vinny Armstrong joined her: “seeing [Jess] ride here last year inspired me massively and made me take that leap” Tahnée said.

The idea to get a group of women tackling Hardline had been brewing for a few years. Tahnée led the charge, with the plan to test out as many features as possible before the main event began, with the intention of competing if they could sew together a full run.

Despite the cancellation of the event, Louise left Wales as the Rider of the Week, along with the resounding reminder that the women are just as gnarly – and as capable – as the men.
