Here I was about to steal a post from when I realised the beauty of the Internet. While all the Fox Racing folks are at Sea Otter, at 8am this morning (well 3am our time) their website ticked over with all their new 2011 product. Who needs Sea Otter? So there are some big changes for Fox in 2011.

For starters all high end Fox models feature gold coloured Kashima Stanchions. This is new technology to the MTB side of Fox’s operations and was developed by the Miyaki Company of Japan and offers superior durability, hardness, and less friction. What is it? Well simply put, it’s a form of anodising where Teflon is impregnated into and below the surface of the fork stanchion.

I guess the biggest news though is the introduction of the new Fox 36 180mm fork. Pivot cycles screwed up a while back and let a spy photo slip out of the Float version but now we know a little more. Like the fact that there is Van, Float and a Talas version!!!

Whilst on the topic of Talas forks it’s probably worth pointing out that all Talas model forks for 2011 have only two travel increments (not three as before) and the 180mm Talas , a 180/140mm travel fork, has a redesigned, more ergonomic lever. HOW SICK IS THAT 180/140! High end 36 Fox forks will also feature FIT dampening.

And I did steal this bit from Singletrack. It appears that OEM Fox Forks (factory built bikes) will have totally different graphics to the after market models, which have been redesigned, making it easier to spot grey market product where it shouldn’t be.

There’s also good news for 29er fans out there with Fox launching a Talas 29er which adjusts between 120mm and 95mm and features the redesigned FIT Terralogic damper technology found in their 26-inch wheel models. Terralogic provides a terrain-sensing transformation from full plush travel to pedaling efficiency firm with absolutely no response lag. Of course, the 32 TALAS 29 is also available in Fox’s industry benchmark FIT RLC model. Stanchion tubes with Kashima Coat improve suspension sensitivity and durability. The optional 15QR thru axle system is now lighter, further enhancing Fox’s World Cup proven chassis’ steering precision and front-end traction that riders expect from FOX Racing Shox.

Up the back the VAN R option is gone leaving an improved VAN RC, which obviously (because of the C) offers externally adjustable low-speed compression damping, linear low-speed rebound adjustability, and DHX based oil capacity.
