Do you have an active interest in the best implementation of cycleways or how mountain bike tracks can benefit the widest demographic? If so, and we hope that’s all of you, Riding For Recreation are hosting a forum over Thursday 25th February and Friday 26th of February in Wellington that will cover a span of subjects associated with providing the recreational cycling spaces we enjoy so regularly. Speakers will include Ben Wilde of Trail Fund NZ, Patrick Morgan from the Cycling Action Network, Dougal List; the NZTA’s National Cycling Manager and Ash Burgess; founder of W.O.R.D, among other important figures in the management and creation of our cycling facilities.
“With exponential growth and increased investment in New Zealand’s cycleways and bike trails, there is growing debate around how and where they can be most effective.
We’re bringing together those involved in the provision of these spaces for an event that will discuss how to provide the best experience to the most important people who are involved in these spaces – the participants.
Join in to discover the perspectives of trail builders, local government planners, providers, land managers, volunteers, programme coordinators, cycling advocates and the other hardworking people behind our current biking revolution.
Riding for Recreation will have a focus on how partnerships and engagement can create a connected network of opportunities with real staying power. We’ve had a lot of interest in this event, so get in quickly while spaces are still available.”
