Yesterday was the what-now-seems-to-be Annual AKDH fundraiser race on Woodhill’s SPCA race. With all proceeds going towards getting Auckland’s juniors to the Worlds in Leogang, people came from pretty far afield to thrash out the newly reworked trail.

One of the raddest things about yesterday was that there were all age categories racing, Under 12s through to gnarly old boys. But at the end of the day the race was really between Matt Walker and Byron Scott, with fastest run going to Matt.

The 16″ National Champs saw the “National 16″ Governing Body” choosing Woodhill as the venue for the second year running. Racing was tight with a few people choosing to take the leap of faith double halfway down the track.

Top honours went to Ben Carter, who gets to wear the stylish sleeveless 16″ denim jacket for 12 months.

Cheers AKDH, grass roots racing RULES!!!!
