DUAL SPEED DECIDER
Crankworx Whistler kicked off properly this evening with the final Dual Speed & Style race of the series, all the familiar faces returned once more to see who would take the crown. The course was pretty loose and dusty, and saw a few of the riders failing to make the gates.
Cam Zink, who hasn’t competed in any of the other stops this year, showed up for a crack at the course. He was going well until he missed his seat on a superman-seat-grab-flip, handing the heat win to Austin Warren.
In the end, it came down to two very familiar faces at this event. Adrien Loron, and Tomas Slavik, both locked into an intense battle, It seemed like Tomas was going for the ‘Speed’ approach, whilst Adrien went for a more ‘Style’ based approach. Loron came out on top with his style beating Slavik’s outright speed this time around.
Rotorua and Les Gets winner, Jakub Vencl, was taken out in the round of 8 by Mitch Ropelato, but placing him well enough to take out the overall series win. We’re back at it again tomorrow with the next round of the EWS, the Canadian Open Enduro, taking place on the hillsides above the village.
Daryl just had a little more style than Kyle Strait in this match up, seeing Daryl move on to take third position.
Mitch Ropelato did well to take fourth, busting out some very tidy dumped 3’s, coming up against Loron.

Tomas Slavik was rapid all night, and in being so rapid, look how high he boosted off a roller in the woop section. Any faster and he’d come down with snow on.
Loron just had that extra style that the judges were looking for.
