The Frew boys (Dan and Brett) have been throwing down the annual Farm Jam for the last few years (you’ll have seen some pics in the print version of SPOKE) and they’ve just released details of the 2011 event. Looks like it’s going to be another banger!
Details after the break……
Farm Jam is all geared up for 2011, with the date set for Feb 26th. Unit Clothing from Australia have been behind us from the start, and this year we have rewarded them with the naming rights for 2011. They are throwing everything at it, and pushing it as what they describe as ‘the best event in the world’.
Between ourselves, Unit, and Jase Hancox from Basket Productions we have produced a five minute web video (ABOVE) that is certainly well worth checking out. It’s Brett’s and my take on what the Farm Jam is, and we think it comes across really well. We are wanting this to be spread as far and wide as possible, so please feel free to send it on to any contacts, or websites that will be interested in seeing it and sharing it around. We are also interested to hear from any shops or businesses that would be interested in running it on in-store screens as we will soon be able to provide a copy on DVD for that purpose.
Farm Jam slides in nicely a week after the Nitro Circus Tour final round in Dunedin, and the first round of the Motocross Nationals in Timaru. We are hoping for a repeat of last year’s weather so we can let everything flow along as it should!
There has been a massive amount of interest from riders. Being this far out from the event, and the nature of our games, we are reluctant to name any athletes who are trekking over, but it’s fair to say there will be plenty from Australia, as well as some possible reps from the US of A and Europe, not to mention the depth of Kiwis that will be here to represent! Levi Sherwood is recovering from his injury well, and we are using him as the poster boy and for voicing radio ads. He is really pumped on making it back! The courses have all been revised and improved, and things are looking awesome!
Farm Jam 2010 spread itself all over the world, featuring in up to 13 magazine publications, as well as worldwide Internet coverage including a Unit Video that’s had nearly 60,000 views ( check it out on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQWhT7nycpc ). The word is well out there about the event itself. We are focusing on taking it further each year, and are really excited about the developments for 2011. We can’t thank Unit enough for what they are providing.
If you want to keep up to date with the haps then find you way to our Blog , or on our Southern Freeriders Facebook page.

It’s still invite only this year right? Cause i think there’s a whole lot of north islanders planning on making the trip for the 1st time who don’t all know the format.
