Loose and wild was the theme for today’s World Cup race in Leogang, Austria, with pretty much the entire top five (bar Gee) getting their feet out in the slippery and wet conditions. Greg Minnaar took the win over Gee Atherton who had almost five seconds on third place finisher Aaron Gwin. The Kiwis killed it though, race day favourite Sam Blenkinsop, down at the first split, looked like he could knock Gwin out of third until he bollocked himself on his top tube. He kept on pinning it for a respectable podium spot in 4th place. Cam Cole, who spent quite a bit of time in the hot seat after moving Steve Peat, held on to 5th and Justin Leov stayed inside the top ten in 8th place. Alexandra’s Matt Scoles also scored a top 20 result finishing in 15th. Results and pics below.
