It all happened pretty quickly. Greg Watts, probably the best slopestyle trick rider on the planet (double whip-flip anyone?) and former owner of the BEST pro model bike ever (the Wattscoe), for some bizarre reason got the boot from Gary Fisher a few weeks back. I just couldn’t believe it. Anyway after being a free agent for about a month Haro bikes have just added him to their super cool roster along with Eric Porter and Phil Sundbaum.  Full press release below.

Haro Bicycles is pleased to announce that we have signed 2009 Whistler Crankworx slopestyle champion, Greg Watts.  Boasting a bag of tricks few other riders can match, Greg has made numerous podium appearances at premier slopestyle and freeride events all over the world.  He has also produced several video segments in high-profile films such as New World Disorder and Barred for Life.

“I am so stoked to be part of the Haro team for 2010!” says Watts.  “They have sick bikes and a solid group of riders to travel with.  I am looking forward to all the stuff we have planned for next year and having some fun riding my sweet new Haro!”

“We couldn’t be happier to have a rider of Greg’s calibre aboard a Haro”, says Jill Hamilton, Haro’s MTB Brand Manager.  “We are committed to growing the sport of slopestyle and freestyle MTB through our depth of product offering in this category.  Signing Greg Watts further cements our dedication to be the ‘go-to’ brand for bikes designed specifically for this progressive style of riding”.

Greg will compete in a full schedule of national and international events aboard a Haro Thread hardtail freestyle MTB frame and a Porter slopestyle-specific frame.
