I just got off the phone with Dave Meikle at GT and he had some exciting news for all you Whaka 100 racers. Event organiser Dean Watson and Dave sat down and figured out a new and fair way to decide who gets the GT Golden Force. All category winners from the Whaka 100 (who ride the full 1ookm) will have their names placed in and drawn from a hat (or bucket or what ever is handy), this way women and juniors also have a shot at the bike. One lucky winner will ride away on the blingest bike in New Zealand. And seeing as pretty much no one in New Zealand is really sponsored properly you’ll have a pretty good shot at the bike… That is if 100km of hurt is your bag. There’s more info here and here.
