SRAM’s newly released GX Eagle AXS has shaken up the drivetrain market with the promise of faultless, robotic, wireless shifting at a significantly wallet-friendlier price point than its XX1 or XO1 Eagle offerings.
GX Eagle AXS is available as a group set including chain set, bottom bracket, cassette, chain, wireless derailleur, shifter and battery or as an upgrade kit which features just the derailleur and shifter.
The derailleur and shifter feature all of the technologies that give AXS the faster, smoother, maintenance free performance and are compatible with SRAM’s 10-50 and 10-52T cassettes.
On paper, it looks like it could be one of THE upgrades of the year. We’ve spent a month with the new group on our test rig and our initial experiences support that thought.
