Inside Outside is a weekly spotlight of inspiring stuff from inside the web but outside of mountain biking. Each week we ask someone from within mountain biking to give us their top five daily websites that aren’t just about mountain biking. This week we get a rather heavy revving selection from photographer Grant Robinson.
Dirt Magazine’s (sort of) staff photographer Grant Robinson is an interesting man. He originally hails from Canada but moved to the UK many years ago and has become rather native to those shores. A sideburn wearing, cursing, family man who appreciates motorbikes and taking photographs that speak as much about the person off the bike as the person on the bike.
Pipeburn -This is where life begins. I have chosen this site because it is typical of the type on which I can waste hours. There are many others that are similar, but this is a particular favourite. Their ‘links’ section is also very good for more of the same.

Sideburn Magazine – This next site is run by Gary Inman (moto journalist) and Ben Part (photographer) who also publish Sideburn magazine which if you haven’t bought then shame on you. If you want to talk passionate then these two guys are it. They are spearheading a revival of flattrack racing not seen since the days of On Any Sunday.

Cool is a color – I’m not sure how I came across this site but it’s one of my all time favourite to drop in on and see what’s been put up. The pictures are fantastic and it’s updated just often enough to keep you keen for more.

The Fox Is Black – ‘Kitsune Noir’ as it used to be called is a site devoted to contemporary art and design. He has his fingers in all the pies and posts up some interesting bits and pieces.

Derestricted – About a year ago I was recommended this site by a friend. Well, the first day I spent about two hours on it going back through all the posts; everything was great and right up my street. I dropped the admin a line to say how much I enjoyed the site and it turns out he is a keen mountain biker and knew of my work through DIRT mag. His name is Piers, we’ve traded a few e-mails since and hopefully one day we’ll meet up and get a ride in somewhere. He is a man of impeccable taste so make sure to check it out.

The Chicane Blog – If you haven’t figured it out already, I have a weakness for old race cars and all race bikes.
For old race cars this is the place.
