The Primer 29er is another new addition to the Intense Cycles stable for 2017. The Californian company has been re-vamping a lot of their offerings and the new Primer looks like another gem. A wolf in sheep’s clothing was how one tester described it. From the outside it looks like a big wheeled gentleman’s trail bike but once you throw your leg over the sleek carbon frame and go for a ride you realise that there is an trail eating animal hidden beneath.
Designed for the big-wheel trail rider, the Primer 29 boasts aggressive trail geometry and adjustable 115mm – 130mm of rear wheel travel on an extra-wide “boost 148” rear end. The carbon frame construction, combined with JS Tuned suspension technology provides an exceptionally stiff yet comfortable ride that is light and nimble. The bike is race-ready and features internal cable routing, 160mm post mounts and protective flak guards as standard amenities.
Full details on the new Primer can be found HERE. New Zealand distributor Wide Open will be taking deliveries of the SL Frame models soon….so watch this space…

“The New Intense Primer 29’r is a perfect choice for anyone looking to have that one bike they can race XC or a light enduro event on. Light, stiff, & efficient, characteristics you’ll noticed when climbing or getting on the power, yet plush, with that perfect geometry, which will bring added confidence to rip the downhills. I just used this new 130mm weapon to race the BC Bike Race and couldn’t have dreamt up a better bike for an event like this. When you’re on your bike for 7 straight days hammering the best single track BC Canada has to offer & there isn’t one thing you can think of that could have made the ride better, you know you’re on a special bike.”
