Chris from Revolution Products just flicked me through an email letting us know that Pivot have just released two new bikes. A carbon version of the classic 429 bike and a new hardtail called the Les (Pivotless, Geddit?). Prices on both bikes are yet to be confirmed but the 5.7 frame comes in at NZD$3850 which should give you an idea, ETA is looking like November. Hit up Revolution Products to find a shop and/or secure a pre-order.

The Carbon 429 (it has 4″ of travel and 29″ wheels) has been tested thoroughly over the last two years and features revised geometry, a tweaked DW Link and the same Pivot hollow box internal molding technology developed for the Carbon Mach 5.7.  The Mach 429 Carbon delivers a perfect balance by taking all of the riding efficiencies of the 29er and delivering the handling characteristics of a 26”. It will make short work of any climb, descents a breeze and all with the comfort and proficiency of full suspension so you can ride at your best all day! Throw in a custom tuned FOX CTD shock, the ability to rock 125mm forks, a 12mm rear axle, dropper post routing, ISCG05 tabs and a tapered head tube and you have one rad pushbike.

With a name like Pivot, coming out with a bike that lacks one is kind of a big deal, but sometimes you have to give people what they want. Like the 429 Carbon it also features Pivot’s hollow box carbon construction as well as 29″ wheels and it comes in at a very respectable 2.5 pounds. New to Pivot and to the Les is the Swinger dropout system. The dropout features Pivot’s 12 x 142mm through axle design while the optional Swinger adjustable system allows singlespeed riders the simplicity of a vertical dropout design with quick click indexed adjustable chain tensioning. The Les also features a Press Fit 92mm wide bottom bracket, and direct mount front derailleur and internal cable routing.
