Sponsorship-wise, Fox and Santa Cruz own the Downieville Classic. Last year though SRAM decided it was time to step up and pretty much took over the Ashland 12 Mile Super D, adding the Avid Chainless Challenge to the mix. Well the Ashland race is on now and I haven’t seen a start list but I’d be guessing there are some heavy hitters in attendance. Mark Weir is there and according to bikerumor.com he’s sporting a prototype set of WTB Stryker wheels. “These things are going to be as light as WTB’s XC wheelset, and their TCS (Tubeless Compatible System) will seal easily with a floor pump when used with tubeless tyres.” More info here.
