Results are in from a rather hectic weekend of racing. the fast and physical track claimed a number of riders this weekend, notably our own Brook Macdonald who suffered a spinal injury and had to be evacuated by heli. His condition is stable, and we are waiting on more information. You got this Brook!
In the Elite Men it was Loic Bruni who would come down last with all the pressure and make it a three-peat at World Champs for the frenchman. Myriam Nicole in her first race back from injury earlier in the year, managed to set a time that would hold until the end.
The biggest news for the kiwis came in the junior men where Tuhoto-Ariki Pene snagged the bronze medal. Couldn’t be more pumped as he has been on an absolute tear this year taking a World Cup win aswell. Excited to see what the future holds for the young kiwi. Also smashing it was Fiona Murray in the Junior Women taking 6th in a stacked field. The Junior Women this year are no joke. The future of downhill is looking healthy here in NZ.
