Jeff pulled up on Friday night with his 20 metre Southstar Shuttle van and trailer after a day snowboarding at Tukino ski field. Finding a place in Khandallah to park it seemed daunting at first, but worked out perfectly in the end. Jeff was here for the first Southstar trial at Long Gully station on the Wellington MTB club tracks.
A packed bus on a pretty crap Saturday was a good sign, as Wellington’s long travel crowd came out in full force to support this great initiative. Sunday’s weather was sunny and windless and a similar turnout again proved that this service could be just what Long Gully and Wellington needs. Southstar will be back next week for the Wellington round of the AKDH North Island race series being held at Long Gully and hopefully forever from then on! More details on Southstar here.
