The day after I said I didn’t think the women would change places Nelson’s Anka Martin had a storming day and not only pulled back Rosara’s 2 minute lead but put another two minutes into her to put herself in second place behind Anne Caro with one day to go.
Consistency was key for Jerome until stage 22 where something obviously went wrong for him, finishing 19th! Vouilloz took his first day win taking out two of the day’s four stages. The 19th place has had a big effect on the the top three positions, Nicolas Lau now leading Vouilloz by 1.38 and Jerome by 1.51. But it seems these top guys are riding right on the edge and there’s still a chance for Jerome to claw back his lead and defend his Trans Provence title for 2012.
In the Am battle Seb and Baller got lost and finished well and truly OTA on stage 20 with a 44th place finish (Baller managed worse with a 71st) which opened the door for Sven to move up in the overall standings and retake his Am lead with an 11th, Seb is still trailing in 16th place (that Tobias chap still separates them though.)
I’ll be glued to Twitter tomorrow to see how things go on the final day. It’s going to be crazy exciting!!!
