Day 2 of the Trans Provence is in the bag and the Kiwis responded to the finer weather with more solid placings. Anton Cooper put the hammer down for a 2nd on Special Stage 8 that combined with a couple of top tens moves him into 12th overall after the first two days. Nelsonian Jamie Nicoll is still killing it, maintaining both 6th place on the day and 6th place overall. Last year’s winner Nico Lau took the days win by 2 seconds over Jerome Clementz who still sits in 1st overall. Sven Martin still has a healthy margin over Wellington’s Jonny Waghorn but a couple of good climbing stages could narrow that down.
In the women’s arena, despite losing the day to ex-World Cup XC racer Kelli Emmett, Anka Martin still has the lead by 29 seconds.
Overall Results after Day 2
And Lester just two minutes down on Wonny Jaghorn…exciting stuff.
