The bike and brand that introduced long travel 29 to the market, is ready to set the Enduro benchmark, again. With a completely redesigned frame, Trek have taken on board the current trends and developed these into their popular Slash DNA.
Trek have increased the travel from 160mm/150mm split to a burly 170mm/160mm, further positioning itself in the hard charging enduro category. They have really thought about all the downsides to most bikes and seemingly thrown it all at the new slash frame.
There is the standard geo changes we are currently seeing, a 1 degree slacker headtube, 1.9 degree steeper seat angle, 45mm increaase in seat post insertion and also a longer more progressive reach.

But on top of that, there are the perks and nice to have’s included also. We are seeing technology starting to dribble down the models, with integrated storage now available in the carbon and alloy models. There is also a full downtube guard to protect from the majority of shuttle rash, and a revised knockblock 2.0 to protect the frame when your bars spin a crash. They have listened to the consumers and increased the turning radius from 58 degrees to 72 degrees, as the old one felt a little restrictive and a lot like a set of triple clamps were bolted up front.

In addition to all these changes, they have managed to produce a frame that only weights 2450g. Which is incredibly light for a burly rig like this.
