Here’s the latest update from Ride Rotorua regarding the ongoing logging on and around some of the Whakarewarewa trails….
Whakarewarewa is an operational forest and logging is taking place in different parts that affect the trail network and recreational access.
As of mid November trails and roads affected are as follows:

• ROADS EFFECTED:
Chestnut Rd- CLOSED through Harvesting Area
• NEW OPERATIONS AND CLOSURES:
Wash Rd , Red Tank, closed when required
Katore Rd through to Tokorangi -both ways
• PLEASE RESPECT ANY TRACKS CLOSED SIGNAGE.

No contest!
And the faster the logging crews get the work done – uninterrupted – the faster the areas affected will be re-opened for riding and re-opening of the trails.
