We wanted to make a bike movie like the ones that got us into riding. The ones we’d watch over and over again, every segment and song committed to memory. And they somehow got us stoked every time. We wanted something that felt like that.
So we got our team together, got the keys to a bike park that was closed for winter and let loose. The result is Team Trip: nine minutes of sessioning, rock smashing, banter and urban assault from Richie Rude, Thomas Vanderham, Miranda Miller, Kasper Woolley and Braedyn Kozman.

Capital Enduro Postponed until February 2023
For the first time Wellington will host an Enduro World Series (EWS) mountain bike race – one of only four world series qualifier events in the country.
Capital Enduro, to be held in April 2022, recognises Wellington as a destination for top level mountain biking. It will bring male and female riders from around the country to test their ability against those based in the Wellington region. The intention is to make it an annual event.

I feel I should start this review with a couple of small confessions. Firstly, until I sat down to write this, I didn’t know any of the Forbidden Dreadnought’s measurements or geometry numbers. Secondly, I’ve never pedaled the Dreadnought up a hill. Never. Zero climbs to date.

20,845M SINGLE TRACK WORLD RECORD DESCENT
The rules: No trail can be ridden twice, and no e-bikes. This is what the two amateur mountain bikers Silvan Marfurt (1988) and Ralph Van Den Berg (1985) stuck to yesterday when they set a new world record. In 16 hours, the two conquered a descent of 20,845 vertical meters in Davos Klosters. Hardly surprising! The Swiss biking destination is known for its almost infinite number of single track trails and its Bahnentour, or “cable car tour,” which is what inspired this world record. “The Bahnentour, with its descent of about 10,000 vertical meters, is my favorite Davos Klosters tour. I rode it several times to prepare,” stated Ralph Van Den Berg.

Crankworx Summer Series 2021: Crankworx has today announced the addition of a summer series festival in New Zealand. The multi-stop mountain biking festival will see international and local riders explore the varied terrain of Central Otago, Queenstown and Wānaka, known for epic vistas and world-class mountain biking tracks. The Crankworx Summer Series will see Crankworx-calibre racing come to local destinations outside the usual World Tour, giving up-and-coming riders and locals the chance to mix, mingle and drop in with some of the world’s best mountain bikers.

New Zealand cross-country mountain bike champion Anton Cooper made a superb return to UCI World Cup racing with sixth place in the opening round in Germany.
The 26-year-old was pipped for the last place on the podium in a sprint finish with rising British star Tom Pidcock who climbed through the 155-strong field.
